Shown here are predicted monthly anomalies for each NWP system within the ESD Forecaster for lead-time of 2 months [left column].  NCEP/NOAA re-analysis for the forecasted month [i.e. what actually happened] is calculated and shown in right-hand column, with anomalies benchmarked to the same reference period as the forecasts [ 1993-2016 ]. 

Remember, forecast plots are for each system’s ensemble mean. Individual ensemble members may have had different accuracy.
